The shooting of Arizona USA Representative Gabrielle Giffords resonated within the community of baseball on Sunday when he learned that the victim was 9 years old (one of six dead) was the daughter of the Los Angeles Dodgers scout John Green and the granddaughter of former manager The Phillies and Cubs general manager Dallas Green.
Christina-Taylor Green was a third grader and the lonely girl on his baseball team Little League. With an interest in politics, she was at the mall to meet Giffords in Tucson when the shooting took place.
He was born on September 11, 2001 and was presented in the book "Faces of Hope," about children born on that day.
